Snow Maiden in the Forest Lacquer Box

this Snow Maiden Lacquered Box has a wonderful feel to it.  The scene depicts the Snegurochka emerging from the wintry woods, as if just created by the winter wind; she's fresh with wonder and new to the world.  The feathery boughs surround her as if urging her onto the stage of life.  Signed by Chesnokova from Kholui, and titled "Snegurochka", this handsome box measures 4" x 6" x 2" and has the Kholui logo stamped on the bottom, and has "Made in Russia" written in gold.  The box also has feet to keep the bottom from scuffing.  Alas, though nearly perfect, if held in just the right angle and light, one can see a little scuffing on the top surface of the box, and therefore we've discounted the box.  Nevertheless, this box will be treasured wherever it goes.
