A sweet and sentimental take on traditional Russian lacquer boxes - this little box portrays a cute bulldog climbing out of a gift basket. The three dimensional dog makes this box adorable, as well as rare and unique. This box is all about the details. Open the top half of the basket and find a raised heart on the underside of the lid - a subtle yet delightful touch. The weave of the basketry is painted not only around the sides of the box, but also across the bottom. This box hails from the Fedoskino village and is signed by artist, Stakanchikov, and dated 2001.
