This is a Biscuit Bust of Paul I of Russia who became emporer of Russia in 1796. True to Paul's royalty, the bust was fittingly produced by the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory in St. Petersburg. "Biscuit" is a type of porcelain glaze that is much softer to the touch then traditional hard porcelain. An excellent addition to any bust collection or great gift for histoy buffs.
