The stunning "Dunya" matryoshka doll is the creation of artist Natasha Pugaeva. She is one of the many Russian artists featured in Rett Ertl and Rick Hibberd’s book The Art of the Russian Matryoshka, where they describe her work as being “characterized by potal, haunting faces, detailed paintings, and little spots of sparkle that represent gems.” No two of her dolls look exactly the same, making each a unique collectible.
