Blue Art Doll 45pc./20"

This fascinating 45-piece nesting doll is beautifully done in vibrant blue paint with gold foil detail. The outside doll measures 20.5" tall and the smallest inside doll, which measures only 3/8ths of an inch, is hollow and opens to an "empty tomb". The artist was thinking of making a 50 piece nesting doll, then decided that was altogether too many pieces for a matryoshka, and so stopped with 45. Or perhaps the 5 smallest pieces got lost along the way. The concept of infinity will be pondered as you open this doll up. All dolls are similar, filling your house with a crowd of blue-clad ladies. We must also make note of the fact that there are pearls glued to the outer doll's headdress, and one of the pearls has gone missing. This is hardly noticable when viewing the whole impressive display. Nevertheless, we have discounted this masterwork due to such a small flaw.
