Vintage Chagall "Blue Couple" Nesting Doll 5pc./6'

  Did you know Marc Chagall was born in Vitebsk and was marked as a ‘non-person’ by the Soviet authorities?   That fact did not stop Russian artists from hand painting this wonderful 5.5"/5pc nesting doll covered in paintings by this modernist artist.  Although he was a central figure in modernist art, Chagall’s paintings repeatedly paid tribute to tradition and the past.  Can you name all the paintings represented in this hand carved lindenwood nesting doll?  I spy...The Fiddler, examples of cubism and most surely Futurism.  

NOTE:  This is a vintage item and is 26 years old.  It is in good condition, but does show minor signs of wear.
