Ivan & the Frog Princess Box by Dobronogova

Ivan and the Frog Princess by Dobronogova is a treasure. Painted in Fedoskino (stamped with the Fedoskino logo inside the hinged lid) and dated 1998, this Russian lacquered minature is rich in color and detail. The true beauty can be found in Prince Ivan's face, which is so tenderly rendered that one can feel is dismay at finding he must marry a frog, albeit one radiant with light and wearing a crown. The rich gold of his coat is enhanced by sparkling metallic cuffs and collar. This box is in fine condition, showing only a bit of wear on the bottom, which is not detrimental. It measures 2.5" x 5.75" x 1.5". Don't pass it up!
