Old Peasant Patriarch Nesting Doll 8pc./7"

This 8-piece Old Peasant Patriarch Russian matryoshka doll is a reproduction of one of the very early dolls created in Sergiev Posad back around 1900.  This rare reproduction contains the Old Grandfather’s entire peasant family.  Mother and her daughters wear brightly colored peasant scarves while father and sons are dressed in long gowns and coats.  They all stand under the watchful blue eyes of beloved grandpa.  The lithe form and matte finish add to its antique feel.  The original doll can be seen at the Museum of Toys in Sergiev Posad.  Put this fellow together on the shelf with our Peasant Matriarch and you will have started your own nesting doll museum!
